This top quality kit allows you to connect your DSLR camera to any microscope with a photoport (trinocular head) or to an eyepiece tube which is equipped with a 1X c-mount adapter (we can supply the c-mount adapter which is specific to each microscope).
To use this adapter you require:
- a 1X C-mount Adapter
- a Camera Bayonet Mount:T-Mount Adapter
This Adapter was designed by our own staff and has a very helpful feature of an interchangeable relay lens. It is supplied with a high quality 10X relay lens which we have found suitable for numerous cameras. However we do also have available 5X, 10X Super Widefield (requires a slightly different version of tube to accommodate it), 15X and 20X. If after experimenting with T-Spacer/Stacking Rings in order to obtain an optimum field of view you find that you still need a different magnification please contact for details.
The 1X C-Mount Adapter, if mounted on a photoport of a trinocular headed microscope, will be highly specific to the model of microscope that you have.
The 1X C-Mount Adapter, if mounted to the eyepiece tube of your microscope, is called a '1x-C-Mount Eyepiece Tube Adapter' it will be designed for a 23.2mm internal diameter eyepiece tube. On many standard biological and materials upright microscopes the eyepiece tube measures 23.2mm. However many microscopes are fitted with wider field of view eyepieces (eg stereo microscopes and more expensive compound microscopes), these often have a diameter of 30mm or 30.5mm. To make the Eyepiece Tube:C-Mount Adapter fit these tubes snugly a spacer ring called an 23.2:30mm (or 30.5mm) Eyepiece Tube Adapter Ring can be supplied. However it should be noted that the view to the camera provided by the adapter will inevitably a region of the centre of the field of view, in other words it will give a more magnified view of your specimen than you are viewing through your microscope. We know of no camera adapter of this type that is designed properly for a wider diameter eyepiece tube than 23.2mm.
