Bespoke Guided Walks - some examples of previous walks listed below. Group size 6-10

Walks are co-ordinated and led by Mike Crewe, a local wildlife consultant, author and professional wildlife tour guide.

Mike Crewe is a professional wildlife tour guide for Limosa Holidays, originally joining them in 1997. In 2009 Mike emigrated to New Jersey, USA with his wife to take up a post at Cape May Bird Observatory.

Tour leading is Mike's first love and Mike returned to the UK in 2016 and rejoined Limosa. Mike's background in horticulture gives him a fantastic knowledge of plant life, especially in Norfolk, however Mike's knowledge of natural history in general is extensive and we are delighted to have him on board to lead our 2018 wildlife walks.

Ringstead Downs
Far from the madding crowd, Ringstead Downs offers us a chance for some exciting wildlife watching in the tranquillity of one of Norfolk’s hidden corners. On this walk, we shall focus on the plants and minibeasts of chalk grassland and scrub, especially butterflies and the wildflowers that they visit for nectar.

Burnham Overy
High summer is the perfect time to enjoy the wildlife that abounds in Burnham’s coastal saltmarshes and dunes. On our walk, we will look for waders, Little Egrets and more in the saltmarshes before exploring the amazing world of sand dunes and learning a little about this unforgiving habitat.

Burnham Deepdale
With the saltmarshes at their very best for wildlife in August, we will spend time exploring the wonderful habitats right on our doorstep. On this walk, we will look at how the different tidal zones produce a whole suite of different animals and plants and learn how to recognise the inhabitants of this fascinating area.

Always a popular event, we shall be heading out to the beach today to learn about the amazing array of items that the tide can through up.
Amongst tangles of seaweed we’ll see how many different shells we can find, discover the burrows of shipworms and no doubt turn up a few surprises, too!

The One Stop Nature Shop "first flight" trips abroad

Bird tours

Our "first flight" trips visit several destinations abroad. These trips are designed especially for beginners interested in birdwatching who wish to travel to Europe. The pace is leisurely and the atmosphere fun, no racing around to get a big list, rather a relaxed visit to some of Europe's best birdwatching destinations. All trips are currently led by Richard Campey owner of The One Stop Nature Shop. Participants make their own travel arrangements from the programme supplied by us but are led and looked after by Richard.
